Observational Drawing (Through A Friend)

Ask a friend to pick an image. The more obscure the better. Have them describe it to you over the phone.

Draw the image according to your friend’s description. You can only listen. No questions, no clarifications.

When you’re finished, swap roles. Describe an image of your choosing while they draw it.

When you’re both finished, send each other your drawings and original images.

Recorded Version:

Pick an image. Record yourself describing the image. Be specific. Be weird. Ask a friend to do the same. Swap recordings.

Play your friend’s recording. Film your sketchbook as you draw what your friend describes. Only draw for as long as your friend is describing. When you’re finished, send your video to your friend.

When you get your friend’s video, send them the original image.
